Ambassadors in Sport are proud to launch their new Hope Academy logo to coincide with national Youth Day celebrations in South Africa on 16th June.
The following explains the symbolism of the logo:
The logo is set on a blue shield outlined in gold, which bears the words “Hope Academy” and the project’s slogan, “Football Faith Future”. Rays of light emanate from behind a black and white football, which features the African continent on one of its patches. The blue, black and white are the colours of the parent organisation, AIS, while the gold is unique to the Hope Academy programme.
The ball signifies the importance of football excellence, which we strive for within each Academy. This means developing disadvantaged youth who have a God-given talent for football, delivering excellent coaching, having an excellent team spirit and producing excellent football.
The rays of light signify the faith element of Hope Academy and the bright future staff and volunteers strive towards for all the children who participate. The map of Africa reflects Hope Academy’s identity as an African project looking to develop young people across the continent.
The slogan, “Football Faith Future” reflects the three pillars upon which the curriculum followed at the Hope Academies is built. The academies offer an intensive football programme delivered coaches who have received training from SAFA and UEFA. “Faith” refers to the fact that the academies have Christian foundations and teach Biblical life principles. However, all children are welcome to participate and are treated equally, regardless of their religious and cultural backgrounds. The third pillar, “Future”, establishes education as a priority – life skills training and a school reporting process equip the children to make positive choices and reach their full potential.
