Early morning on the 17th day of October 2008 everyone at the World Hope Centre was up and about rushing against time as they prepared for the long awaited event. The official hand over of the World Hope team to their new owners Ambassadors in Sports. The event was colourful and exciting!
The event was graced by special guest, former Kenyan national team captain and player for Santos (South Africa) and Cleveland City Stars (USA), Musa Otieno.
The event was covered by: Nation News at 7.00pm and 9.00pm, Citizen News, Kiss 100 radio, family TV, K24, among others.
The launch of Nairobi City Stars, the first of its kind in Kenya, was a great success. The team were full of inspiration, motivation and a hope for a better tomorrow.
The players briefly showed their skills and what they have in store for the new team, their supporters gave them moral support showing their satisfaction with the decision by the management.
As the new management spoke to crowd of fans, it was clear that they all shared the same vision for the team i.e. bringing hope through football. They were both excited and enthusiastic and that helped everyone present to believe that this was not just a profitable decision but a wise one.
The World Hope team, now known as the Nairobi City Stars, will bring change not just to the city of Nairobi but to the world at large. The event ended in celebration with the belief that that was the beginning of a new and greater success.
