You may remember that, back in February 2008, AIS Hope Academy made it into the final 16 of the Changemakers (Sport For A Better World) competition. The top 3 entries were decided by a public vote and though we were disappointed not to win a prize we were still very encouraged that the judges regarded our project so highly.
Now, 5 months later, we are delighted to announce that Nike have subsequently chosen us for a special award! This award is designed to recognize the entrant that uses football to affect social change in their community. As the Football Prize winner, Ambassadors in Sport will receive $5000 in recognition of our "substantive work".
Changemakers extended to us their sincerest appreciation for our pioneering work in using football for social change and said that our work "added a unique and powerful voice to our global community".
We would like to thank all of you who voted for us and who helped make this award a reality, we wouldn't have won it without you.
