Ambassadors in Sport (AIS)  is proud to be one of the first 26 (NIKE)RED recipients to help train coaches and educate soccer players on HIV/Aids. The grant is managed by the Belgiem based King Badouin Foundation.

AIS have been utilising the coaching of coaches course, TREC, to help train coaches not just to become great community soccer coaches, but also to give education on pertinent community issues such as HIV/Aids and Human Trafficking. This strategy recognises that coaches have an incredible opportunity to influence their players. As part of the AIS 2010 and Beyond strategy, over 500 coaches have now been through the TREC programme since 2007. The goal is to have up to 1000 coaches trained by 2011.

The funds received from the King Baudouin Foundation will now enable AIS to provide practical resources to all these coaches that will help them to practically implement the training they have received with children in their football clubs.

AIS are grateful to the King Baudouin Foundation and Nike for their support.
